Mary immigrated to Canada in 2015 as a student and later progressed to permanent residency status and citizenship. Through these processes she became intimate with the Canadian immigration system and aware of the prevalence of misinformation.

She also witnessed many people fall victim to misinformation and the resulting consequences, so she became determined to make a difference.
